On Sunday, some of the WCS fellas took me to the other side of the lago Peten Itza for the futbol semfinal match between the San Jose Jaguares (home team) and the Jalapa Tigres. What a blast! The stadium is beautifully situated; overlooking the lake. To begin the show, loads of firecrackers were going off and confetti was flying everywhere. The ninos were having a blast, scooping up handfuls of confetti and dumping it on each other. What a game! The Tigres took a 2-0 lead but the Jaguares battled back and tied it up 2-2. The action was all in the Tigres' side of the field in the second half so the crowd was in a frenzy. Could they pull out a win? Alas, they couldn't get in another goal and the Tigres had the tie breaker, advancing to the final. We all enjoyed the post-game libations while overlooking the scenic lake and hills. As the night progressed the language barrier seemed to be less of an issue! Good times...Now it's time to head out to the field...La Corona. Hasta luego
